Purple toes and Chacos

After I went to orientation at UAH Tuesday I had a little fun!

Dad2 and Daniel getting us ready to go.

I was totally rockin' the Aviators and the Jordan-Hare hat.

We went on the Elk River just over the state line in TN. Not many rapids on the Elk-this is about all the action we got.

Looks rough, huh?

Do you see the critter I spotted?
We think it was either an otter or beaver.

Look how beautiful the river was! But also notice how smooth the water is--that's not good when you're hoping to float down a river.

We stopped on this little sand bar for our snack. Looks like someone else has some fun here too!

The Hannah Ward Bridge.

Dad2 trying to tell me to do something I didn't want to do-don't worry I got him back for it later!

We put in at 4 and paddled most of the way since the water wasn't running very fast. Can I tell you how relieved I was to see this bridge, where we were taking out! It took us almost 4 hours to do between 5 and 6 miles.

It was a lot of paddling! But totally worth it! I can't wait to go more this summer and plan trips to take J, T, Sassy, and Sister.
